In this article I will offer very simple but complete step-by-step instructions for pairing Bose BT2 (Bluetooth Headset Series 2) wireless headphones to any device – an Apple PC or iPhone, a Windows PC or Android phone.

First we’ll cover the most basic steps, which should help you get your BT2 headset connected quickly and easily, and then we’ll go over some basic troubleshooting points if it doesn’t work.

Then at the end of the article I will offer more detailed instructions for finding and using the Bluetooth page on any phone or computer – Apple, Android or Windows.

How to Connect Bose Bluetooth Headset Series 2 to Any Device

Step 1

Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on on your phone or PC

For specific instructions on how do this on an Apple iPhone or PC, an Android phone or a Windows PC, see below

Step 2

Make sure your Bose BT2 headphones are close enough to the device

Effective Bluetooth range can be several hundred feet, but for pairing, I like to have the headphones and the device right next to each other

Step 3

Power on your Bose Bluetooth Headset Series 2 headphones

  • Slide the power / Bluetooth button, located on the bottom of the right earpiece, so that the color green is showing
  • When your earphones are turned on, the battery meter (on the same earpiece) will indicate battery level.  – red, yellow or green. If it is not green, you should charge your BT2 before proceeding

Step 4

Put your your Bluetooth Headset Series 2 headphones in pairing mode

  • When you use them for the first time, your BT2 will enter into pairing mode automatically, indicated by a slowly flashing blue light on the bottom of the right earpiece
  • If you are pairing to a different device, or for whatever reason the headphones are not in pairing mode, or “discoverable,” simply press and hold the call button (on the top of the same earpiece) for five seconds, until the blue Bluetooth light slowly flashes blue

Step 5

Go back to your device’s Bluetooth page and select your BT2 headphones

  • If your Bluetooth Headset Series 2 headphones are powered on and in pairing mode, they should appear here. If not, go back to the previous steps – and make certain the headphones are close enough to your device.
  • Also, If you don’t see your BT2 wireless earbuds listed, you can refresh the list, or turn Bluetooth off and on
  • Again, for more specific instructions on how to do this with an Apple phone or PC, an Android phone or a Windows PC, see below

Your Bose Bluetooth Headset Series 2 headphones should now be paired and connected to your device. The Bluetooth light should now be glowing steady blue, and you should hear a short tone indicating they are paired and ready to use.

Please note that you only have to go through this manual pairing process one time – after that, your Bose BT2 and your phone, PC or other Bluetooth gadget will automatically find each other and pair every time they are turned on and in range

How to Pair Bose Bluetooth Headset Series 2: Basic Troubleshooting

  • Make sure your Bose BT2 headphones are not just on and pairing, but are sufficiently charged
  • Remember that your headphones and device have to be in range of each other – this can be several hundred feet, but when pairing I always have them right next to each other
  • Make sure you are actually playing something – music, a movie, an audiobook or any other audio
  • Check the volume controls on your Bluetooth Headset Series 2 headphones, your gadget and your media player, making sure they are all turned up at least a bit
  • Make sure your PC, phone, tablet or other device is not locked or in airplane mode
  • Power down your headphones and restart your PC or phone, and try the process again
