In this article I will offer very simple but complete step-by-step instructions for how to pair Bose Bose QuietComfort 35 II wireless headphones to any device – an Apple PC or iPhone, a Windows PC or Android phone.

First we’ll cover the most basic steps, which should help you get your QuietComfort 35 generation 2 headphones connected quickly and easily, and then we’ll go over some basic troubleshooting points if it doesn’t work.

Then at the end of the article I will offer more detailed instructions for finding and using the Bluetooth page on any phone or computer – Apple, Android or Windows.

How to Connect Bose QuietComfort 35 II Headphones to Any Device

Step 1

Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on on your phone or PC

For specific instructions on how do this on an Apple iPhone or PC, an Android phone or a Windows PC, see below

Step 2

Make sure your Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones are close enough to the device

Effective Bluetooth range can be several hundred feet, but for pairing, I like to have the headphones and the device right next to each other

Step 3

Power on your Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones

  • Slide the power / Bluetooth button, located on right ear cup, to the right for just a moment, then release
  • When your headphones are turned on, the LED will light up, and the battery meter (on the side of the ear cup, next to the volume control) will indicate battery level.  – red, yellow or green. If it is red, you should charge your QC35 II headphones before proceeding

Step 4

Put your your QuietComfort 35 II headphones in pairing mode

  • Slide the Power / Bluetooth button to the right again, and this time hold it there for two seconds until the LED indicator blinks blue
  • You should also hear the voice prompt say “ready to connect another device

Step 5

Go back to your device’s Bluetooth page and select your Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones

  • If your QuietComfort 35 II headphones are powered on and in pairing mode, they should appear here. If not, go back to the previous steps – and make certain the headphones are close enough to your device
  • Also, If you don’t see your QC35 II headphones listed, you can refresh the list, or turn Bluetooth off and on
  • Again, for more specific instructions on how to do this with an Apple phone or PC, an Android phone or a Windows PC, see below

Your Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones should now be paired and connected to your device. The LED indicator light should now be glowing steady white, and you should hear the voice prompt “connected to >>device name<<.”

Please note that you only have to go through this manual pairing process one time – after that, your Bose headphones and your phone, PC or other Bluetooth gadget will automatically find each other and pair every time they are turned on and in range

How to Connect Bose QC35 II Headphones: Basic Troubleshooting

  • Make sure your Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones are not just on and pairing, but are sufficiently charged
  • Remember that your headphones and device have to be in range of each other – this can be several hundred feet, but when pairing I always have them right next to each other
  • Make sure you are actually playing something – music, a movie, an audiobook or any other audio
  • Check the volume controls on your QuietComfort 35 II headphones, your gadget and your media player, making sure they are all turned up at least a bit
  • Make sure your PC, phone, tablet or other device is not locked or in airplane mode
  • Power down your headphones and restart your PC or phone, and try the process again
