- Tap Set up a new Sonos system to start the setup process
- Select Create Account
- Create the account following the prompts
When creating the password for the account, make sure that it is at least 8 characters. Refrain from using common passwords and previously used passwords. Once the account is created, you will get an account verification email. If not received, tap Send the email again.

How To Transfer Your Sonos To A New System?
If you created a new Sonos account or have products in your house that work with the old account, you will have to transfer the Sonos system to the new account. The first step is to sign out from the old account so that the transfer of ownership can be done. For this, go to Settings > Account and press Sign Out.
Now open the Sonos app in iOS or Android and press System from the Settings tab. Press Transfer System Ownership and follow the prompts.
Reset Or Change The Sonos Account Password
If due to some issue, you are not able to access your Sonos account, you can try to reset the account password. If you are using the Sonos app, open the app. In the Settings tab, press Account. Press Reset Password and follow the prompts.
If you want to reset the password from the Sonos website, log in to your account first. Select Profile and tap on Edit Profile. Enter the new password in the Password field. Click Save Changes.
How To Unlock Sonos Account?
If you tried to log in to your Sonos account and failed to do so a couple of times, your account may get locked. You will then receive an email detailing how to unlock the account by resetting the password. In any case, wait for a few minutes and try to log in again. If the account gets unlocked, you can try logging in. If this does not work, resetting the password is the only solution.
How To Use A Different Alexa Account With Sonos System?
Amazon Alexa makes it very easy to control your Sonos system with voice commands. By default, Sonos uses the most recently used Amazon account. If you want to use a different account, follow these steps for iOS or Android.
- If you have already set up an Alexa account for Sonos, remove Alexa.
- Open the Sonos app
- Follow the prompts to add Alexa to Sonos
- Tap Sign in to Amazon, and you will be asked to press Allow if you already have an Amazon account. If you want to use a different account, tap the account’s avatar in the top right corner. Now press Sign Out.
- Sign in to the other/new Amazon account
- Press Allow
There is a check box that says Keep Me Signed In, which you can see while signing in to your Amazon account. If you have checked this, the same account will be used to add Alexa to other Sonos products in the Sonos system.
