A factory reset is a very simple thing to do – at least if you have clear instructions! – and it definitely won’t make things worse or cause any additional problems, so there’s no real reason not to try it, especially if nothing else seems to be working.

In this article, I will explain, as simply and easily as possible, how to reset any Skullcandy wireless earbuds. When you’re done, you will almost certainly find that they pair correctly with each other and with your device.

There are various processes for resetting the different models of Skullcandy wireless earbuds, so how to reset Skullcandy Indy’s buds, Hesh, Jib, or any of the others will look a bit different.

At the same time, the process overall is basically the same, so to make things quick and easy, I will give the basic process here, and below we will get into the exact and specific process for each model of Skullcandy wireless earbuds.

How to Factory Reset Any Skullcandy True Wireless Earbuds

I would love to just give one general set of instructions, but in fact, the process of factory resetting your Skullcandy true wireless earbuds is a bit different for each model.

So, to make things easiest for you, I am going to write out the clearest and simple steps for resetting each one of them – just find your particular model of Skullcandy earbuds on this list and click on that link, and you’ll be taken to the correct set of instructions.


How to Factory Reset Skullcandy Dime Earbuds

This process works for both the original Skullcandy Dime and the newest Dime 2.

  1. First, on your phone, PC or other device, “forget” your Skullcandy Dime earbuds.

To be thorough and make sure this works, you can also turn your Bluetooth off entirely – just make sure to turn it back on after we’re done, to ensure pairing and playing will work correctly.

  1. Take your Skullcandy Dime earbuds out of their case and let them turn on.
  2. On one of the earbuds – it doesn’t matter which one – tap the back 2 times, and then hold the back for at least 2 seconds.

This resets your Dimes, and enters them into pairing mode.

  1. On your phone, PC or other device you can now turn Bluetooth back on and go through the normal pairing routine.

If this factory reset process is working, but your Skullcandy Dime wireless earbuds are still not working, there may be a more serious problem, and you should contact your dealer or Skullcandy Customer Support.


How to Factory Reset Skullcandy Indy Earbuds

This process works for all Indy models except for the Indy ANC (active noise cancelling – see just below), so this is your section if you have the original Indy, the Indy Evo or the Indy Fuel.

  1. First, on your phone, PC or other device, “forget” your Skullcandy Indy earbuds.

To be thorough and make sure this works, you can also turn your Bluetooth off entirely – just make sure to turn it back on after we’re done, to ensure pairing and playing will work correctly.

  1. Turn your Skullcandy Indy earbuds off, which can be done by touching and holding the backs of each earbud for at least 6 seconds.

You may do each earbud individually, or do them at the same time – it doesn’t matter.

  1. Now touch and hold each earbud just as you did to turn them off, but this time hold them for at least 10 seconds.

You will see a series of flashing lights, and then eventually the lights will turn off completely.

  1. Put your Indy back in their case, and you should see a red light, and then pull them back out at the same time.
  2. On your phone, PC or other device you can now turn Bluetooth back on and go through the normal pairing routine.

If this factory reset process is working, but your Skullcandy Indy wireless earbuds are still not working, there may be a more serious problem, and you should contact your dealer or Skullcandy Customer Support.


How to Factory Reset Skullcandy Indy ANC Earbuds

This process works for all Indy ANC models, including the original Indy ANC and the Indy ANC  Fuel.

  1. First, on your phone, PC or other device, “forget” your Skullcandy Indy ANC earbuds.

To be thorough and make sure this works, you can also turn your Bluetooth off entirely – just make sure to turn it back on after we’re done, to ensure pairing and playing will work correctly.

  1. Turn your Skullcandy Indy ANC earbuds off, which can be done by touching and holding the backs of each earbud for at least 6 seconds.

You may do each earbud individually, or do them at the same time – it doesn’t matter.

  1. Now touch and hold each earbud just as you did to turn them off, but this time hold them for at least 15 seconds, until you see a solid blue light.
  2. Tap the back of each earbud twice to reset them.

You will see a flashing purple light indicating the reset has been successful, and then they will flash red and blue as they begin to pair with each other.

  1. On your phone, PC or other device you can now turn Bluetooth back on and go through the normal pairing routine.

If this factory reset process is working, but your Skullcandy Indy ANC wireless earbuds are still not working, there may be a more serious problem, and you should contact your dealer or Skullcandy Customer Support.


How to Factory Reset Skullcandy Jib Earbuds

This process works for all Jib models, from the original Skullcandy Jib to the newest Jib True 2.

  1. First, on your phone, PC or other device, “forget” your Skullcandy Jib earbuds.

To be thorough and make sure this works, you can also turn your Bluetooth off entirely – just make sure to turn it back on after we’re done, to ensure pairing and playing will work correctly.

  1. Turn your Skullcandy Jib earbuds off, which can be done by touching and holding the backs of each earbud for at least 4 seconds.

You may do each earbud individually, or do them at the same time – it doesn’t matter.

  1. Now touch and hold each earbud just as you did to turn them off, but this time hold them for at least 10 seconds.

You will see a series of flashing lights, and then eventually the lights will turn off completely.

  1. Put your Jib back in their case, and you should see a red light, and then pull them back out at the same time.
  2. On your phone, PC or other device you can now turn Bluetooth back on and go through the normal pairing routine.

If this factory reset process is working, but your Skullcandy Jib wireless earbuds are still not working, there may be a more serious problem, and you should contact your dealer or Skullcandy Customer Support.


How to Factory Reset Skullcandy Mod Earbuds

This process works for any Skullcandy Mod wireless earbuds.

  1. First, on your phone, PC or other device, “forget” your Skullcandy Mod earbuds.

To be thorough and make sure this works, you can also turn your Bluetooth off entirely – just make sure to turn it back on after we’re done, to ensure pairing and playing will work correctly.

  1. Take both earbuds from their case and let them power on.
  2. Touch and hold the backs of both earbuds at the same time for at least 3 seconds.

You will hear a tone indicating they’ve reset, and the earbud will flash purple three (3) times, and then they will automatically go into pairing mode.

  1. On your phone, PC or other device you can now turn Bluetooth back on and go through the normal pairing routine.

If this factory reset process is working, but your Skullcandy Mod wireless earbuds are still not working, there may be a more serious problem, and you should contact your dealer or Skullcandy Customer Support.


How to Factory Reset Skullcandy Push Earbuds

This process works for both the original Push and the Push Ultra earbuds. For the Push Active, see the instructions below.

  1. First, on your phone, PC or other device, “forget” your Skullcandy Push earbuds.

To be thorough and make sure this works, you can also turn your Bluetooth off entirely – just make sure to turn it back on after we’re done, to ensure pairing and playing will work correctly.

  1. Turn your Skullcandy Push earbuds off, which can be done by touching and holding the backs of each earbud for at least 6 seconds.

You may do each earbud individually, or do them at the same time – it doesn’t matter.

  1. Now touch and hold each earbud just as you did to turn them off, but this time hold them for at least 10 seconds.

You will see a series of flashing lights, and then eventually both earbuds will show solid blue and then turn off.

  1. Press the power button on the left Push earbud and they will enter into pairing mode.
  2. On your phone, PC or other device you can now turn Bluetooth back on and go through the normal pairing routine.

If this factory reset process is working, but your Skullcandy Push or Push Ultra wireless earbuds are still not working, there may be a more serious problem, and you should contact your dealer or Skullcandy Customer Support.


How to Factory Reset Skullcandy Push Active Earbuds

This process works only for the Skullcandy Push Active earbuds. For both the original Push and the Push Ultra earbuds, see the instructions just above.

  1. First, on your phone, PC or other device, “forget” your Skullcandy Push Active earbuds.

To be thorough and make sure this works, you can also turn your Bluetooth off entirely – just make sure to turn it back on after we’re done, to ensure pairing and playing will work correctly.

  1. Remove both Push Active earbuds from their case.
  2. Touch and hold the back of only the right earbud for 3 seconds.

The earbud will flash purple 3 times, indicating it has been reset, and then the earbuds will enter automatically into pairing mode.

  1. On your phone, PC or other device you can now turn Bluetooth back on and go through the normal pairing routine.

If this factory reset process is working, but your Skullcandy Push Active wireless earbuds are still not working, there may be a more serious problem, and you should contact your dealer or Skullcandy Customer Support.


How to Factory Reset Skullcandy Sesh Earbuds

This process works for the Sesh and Sesh Evo earbuds. For the Sesh ANC (active noise cancelling) earbuds, see just below.
