If you have tried to turn on a pair of Beats headphones, and are a bit frustrated because it didn’t work, you’re not alone – in fact, you’d be surprised how many people ask us here at Speakergy how to turn on Beats earbuds or headphones!

So let’s get into the question here, with this clear and basic guide to how to power up Beats headphones.

How To Turn On Beats Headphones

Most models of Beats headphones turn on in the exact same way:

Find the power button, and press and hold it for at least 1 second

This is probably why many people have difficulty powering Beats headphones on, because you can’t just hit the power button – you need to press and hold it, or it just won’t work.

When you turn your Beats, they will also try to connect. If you’ve used them before with your phone, PC, tablet or other device, they should connect automatically, and if this is the first time you’ve used them they will go into pairing mode, and you can find and select them on your device’s Bluetooth page.

If you’re wondering how to turn Beats headphones off, you do the exact same thing – simply press the power button and hold it for at least 1 second.

You should also keep in mind that your Beats will need at least some battery to be able to turn on, so make sure they are at least partially charged.

How to Turn On Beats Earbuds

A few specific models of Beats headphones are a bit different in how they turn on, and below I will provide a list of some popular models, so that you can find out how to turn on your particular Beats headphones if the above doesn’t work.

But I do want to mention here the most common exception to the above rule, and that’s Beats true wireless earbuds.

See, Beats wireless earbuds don’t have a power button. To turn them on you simply take them out of their case, and to turn them off you put them back into the case.

If they power down, you will need to return them to their case, let them charge at least briefly and then pull them out of the case to power them up.

Where Is the Power Button on Beats Headphones?

So really, powering up Beats headphones and earbuds is pretty simple, once you know how, but you also need to know where that power button is.

Luckily the power button is always easy to find.

  • For most Beats headphones it is on the right side:
  • For Beats over-ear wireless headphones, the power button is usually on the bottom of the right earcup
  • For Beats in-ear wireless headphones, the power button is usually on the right side of the cable, just below the right earbud.
  • For Beats true wireless earbuds, again there is no power button – simply take them out of the case and they are on and ready to use.
