Now, it gives you another reason to be happy – you can connect the speaker to a TV and watch your much-loved shows in a better audio experience. Not just one, we will discuss three ways to do so right here.

Method 1: Using the Sonos app

Apps in your phone have become great friends that manage many things on your behalf. If you have the Sonos app installed on the phone or computer, it can remotely control the speaker. Adjust the settings in the app and the speaker can be managed without a need to manually do anything.

Connect your phone or computer and one of the Sonos speakers to the same Wi-Fi connection. Now the Sonos app can be used to control the speaker the way you want. The app can be used to connect each speaker to the Wi-Fi and then these can be connected to the centralized soundbar. Now connect the soundbar to the TV using a cable and the connection is done.

Remember that at least one speaker will always remain connected to the TV. But that is still okay because you just need a single cable for the connection and not a bunch of them if you had to connect all the speakers using cables.

In a way, it can be said that the whole thing works mostly in a wireless fashion except for the one connection you have to make with the TV. When that one speaker is connected to the TV, all the others will be connected using the app.

Method 2: Via Bluetooth

When you connect the Sonos Roam to TV via Bluetooth, ensure that you have enabled the Bluetooth option in both devices. For this, it is necessary that both the devices are Bluetooth enabled or you will have to go with any of the other two methods.

To do the connection, go to the Settings section of the TV and check if you can see the name of the Sonos speaker (it will be present if the speaker’s Bluetooth is on). On selecting the speaker, the TV and the speaker will connect wirelessly through the streaming service of the TV and the speaker. This is so easy, isn’t it? A few taps on the speaker buttons, and your connection is ready. Sit back and enjoy unending entertainment on your TV with superior sound.

Method 3: Using APTX BT transmitter

The third option lets you connect the Sonos Roam and TV wirelessly using a connecting device. APTX BT transmitter can be used as a Bluetooth audio receiver if you are not using a TV streaming service. This device can be connected to the TV receivers. So basically, if you have this device, it doesn’t matter whether your TV is Bluetooth enabled or not.

So the connection goes like this – the speaker is connected to the APTX BT transmitter, which is connected to the TV using a cable. The transmitter can either be connected to the audio output of the TV or to the headphone jack as both give the same end result. Once the transmitter and the speaker are paired, you can switch on the TV and see whether the connection works fine.

To discontinue, just unplug the transmitter from the TV. In this case, again, there is just one cable that connects the transmitter to the TV while all other speakers are connected to the main speaker via Wi-Fi.
